How to testify before the Arkansas legislature

State page·Verified 2026-07-10

The mechanics of testifying are in the general guide. This page covers what is specific to Arkansas.

How Arkansas does it

Arkansas General Assembly testimony appears to be in-person only, with no confirmed remote or video option. Each committee posts a sign-in sheet electronically alongside its agenda, and the Capitol also maintains a physical public-comment holding room where speakers wait to be called. Signing in does not guarantee a chance to speak, since time is limited and allocated at the chair's discretion. No dedicated online portal for written testimony was found, so contacting the committee directly or your legislator's office is the practical route for written comments.

Deadlines and numbers

No confirmed advance deadline exists for sign-up. It happens the day of the hearing. No codified statewide per-speaker time limit was found either, so this varies with the chair. Committee meeting schedules are posted on the Arkansas General Assembly's calendar.
